Jennifer Steckler Fund
Dear Friends of Jennifer, July 11 marked the beginning of another lap of Jennifer Steckler's journey toward whipping leukemia. She began the not-so-pleasant countdown treatment which prepares her body to receive brother David's bone marrow on approximately the 20th of July. July 11 also began a seven month stay in Nashville for Jennifer and Dale -- one hundred days or more in the hospital post-transplant and an additional four months in a hotel or apartment for close monitoring. As we have become emotional and spiritual partners with Jennifer on her journey, we've all searched for some gesture which would convey our concern and love. A donation to the Jennifer Steckler Fund established through St Mary Basilica could be just that expression. Please consider donating the dollars you might have spent on preparing a casserole for her family or sending a bouquet to her. You will have helped, and your gesture will be well appreciated by her family and reserved for their many expenses not covered by insurance. For those of us who knew her father, David Steckler, and admired his devotion to his family, his Church, and his community, it might be a gesture of thanksgiving for the example he was to all of us.
